Position of Grants Manager-Job Opening
The Department of Economic Development works with businesses and communities in the development and implementation of projects for the purpose of encouraging business investment and job creation in Delaware County. Currently, the Department is seeking a highly motivated and detailed oriented professional for the position of grants manager.
The grants manager is chiefly involved in the coordination and implementation of a variety grant and loan programs within the county, with a primary emphasis on the preparation and submission of monitoring and financial reports. The grants manager plays a substantial role in the day-to-day financial management of the County’s economic development programs and funds. The grants manager is responsible for managing communications between the Department and State and Federal agencies, as well as businesses participating in economic development programs. The grants manager is additionally required to monitor programs for compliance with the rules, regulations and procedures of funding agencies.
This is a professional administrative position requiring the exercitation of judgment and initiative. While work will initially be performed under the direct supervision of the Director, it is the expectation that the grants manager develops to a point allowing for greater independence and discretion, requiring only general and/or administrative oversight only.
Attributes of the Position
A successful grants manager must be able to prioritize tasks with the ability to adapt to changing duties and have the capability to effectively multi-task between various programs and projects. Effective communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. The grants manager must be able to understand and interpret funding regulations and procedures and have the ability to recognize their impact on projects/businesses.

Base salary for the position is $35,977, based on a 35 hour work week. Benefits include health insurance, retirement, access to deferred compensation and paid leave time.
